Pulling small and funny pranks is not considered a big deal, but what if your prank involved a deadly threat targeting an Apple Store. A 17 years old boy called Jason Barry from New York, decides to pull on a little prank of his own, by posting a threat note on one of Apple’s computer in Staten Island Mall, threatening to blow up the store with everyone in it through a suicide bombing.
The note that was posted using “Sticky Notes” included the following: “I have threatened your store and all its employees with a bloody death… whoever the crew maybe working, or the innocent citizens that walk in… will be eliminated with the force of a… bomb loaded with C4, strapped to my chest.”
After getting arrested by the police who gave him a little visit to his home, Jason Barry was identified by witnesses who spotted him writing the note. He admitted that this was just a joke, as he was going to remove the note before he leaves, however forgot to do so. Furthermore, Jason had signed the note using his friend’s father name which I believe is a very idiotic act.
Daniel Donovan, Staten Island District Attorney stated that authorities will not take this matter lightly, due to the increase in the number of terrorist threats. Furthermore, such threats are granted a 7 year prison sentence, but his parents managed to post his bail.
